WESTCHESTER SENATE CANDIDATE DR. LIVIU SAIMOVICICALLS ON LAWMAKERS TO PREVENT LOOTING AND PROTECT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AMID REPORTS OF LOOTING IN YONKERS AND VIOLENCE AGAINST LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ACROSS THE STATE

Rye, NY–June 3rd, 2020… Dr. Liviu “Dr. Liv” Saimovici, the Republican and Conservative Party candidate for New York’s 37th State Senate District, called on Westchester County lawmakers and state legislators to prevent looting and protect law enforcement following looting last night in Yonkers and violence against law enforcement officers across New York state.

“The deafening silence from our elected officials in Albany and White Plains shows a complete lack of support for business owners and law enforcement across Westchester County,” said Dr. Liv. “The memory of George Floyd is honored by peaceful protests and the exercise of our First Amendment rights. The rampant looting and violence against law enforcement officers we are seeing in New York City and across the state does not honor his memory and cannot be allowed to cross the border into Westchester County.”

“Without a comprehensive plan to prevent this type of violence against our businesses and law enforcement officers, we’re inviting looters and rioters in,” Dr. Liv continued. “How much longer will Shelley Mayer and other elected officials let this go unaddressed?”
“There must be a concrete plan laid out, in close coordination with law enforcement agencies and Chambers of Commerce, to prevent damage to personal property and businesses in Westchester County.”
